Kinks - Sunny Afternoon
The taxman's taken all my dough
And left me in my stately home
Lazin' on a sunny afternoon
And I can't sail my yacht
He's taken everything I've got
All I've got's this sunny afternoon

Save me, save me, save me from this squeeze
I got a big fat mama tryin' to break me
And I love to live so pleasantly
Live this life of luxury
Lazin' on a sunny afternoon
In the summertime

My girlfriend's run off with my car
And gone back to her ma and pa
Tellin' tales of drunkenness and cruelty
Now I'm sittin' here
Sippin' at my ice-cooled beer
All I've got's this sunny afternoon

Help me, help me, help me sail away
Or give me two good reasons why I oughta stay
'Cause I love to live so pleasantly
Live this life of luxury
Lazin' on a sunny afternoon
In the summertime

3. The Kinks, Them, Shawdows of Knight (2 Van Morrison bands),
Yardbirds. All from that time. All HIGHLY underrated.

5.  Overall Best, Deepest, most versatile Catalogue in Rock
Yes, deeper than Beatles, just as good as Stones in their prime (different styles). More versatile than than the Who....
Mind boggling..... Had the privilege of seeing Ray a few years in a small room during his book tour. Will never forget it.

6. I was just listening to "Village Green Preservation Society"...
...on my way home from work.

The Kinks always make me smile.
