the weird thing is I don't think Neil Diamond ever rocked! My mother, who used to tell me to turn down that awful rock music as an adolescent, used to love Neil Diamond at the time, especially "Sweet Caroline"...

11. I've been thinking serioiusly about this, and I think Neil had a couple of

moments of rockin'. Specifically, "Cherry Cherry" and "I'm a Believer" (though the Monkees version was far more righteous, owing mainly to the addition of the organ).

I wonder if the cover photo was taken during the performance of "Cherry Cherry" that Hot August Night, maybe during the "she got the way to move me" chorus.
