There's a huge possum about 4 feet away from me
I just heard some rustling in the tree outside the 2nd story window here. The dog was with me, and he started getting all agitated. I thought I saw a tail, but couldn't tell. So I shut the lights inside and got a flashlight and shined it out. The possum is still sitting right there outside the window, and it's huge. Without tail, almost 2 feet long. There it goes...crawling around the tree. Bad possum.

3. That reminds me of the time I went
out on my porch to wait for a repairman and felt something brush my leg across the back. I thought it might be a cat and reached down to pet it. Lo and behold, it was a big, unsightly possum. I must have jumped three feet straight up in the air. The poor thing took off in a panic and was last seen lumbering down the street at top speed.

8. hey! the same thing happened to me!
I was like 12 or so and had an early morning paper route... we had a big gray outside cat that had a self-feeder in the garage. I was very bleary-eyed this particular morning and was getting my bike out of the garage and I saw my big gray cat, Yahtzee was his name, eating out of the self feeder. I went over to pet him and my hand was a couple of inches away when he turned around and IT with its long nose and beady eyes and sharp teeth growled at me. I jumped so high and nearly had a heart attack. I then saw Yahtzee scared and cowering in the corner of the garage. Poor thing. We had been noticing Yahtzee's growing appetite for some time, he was being bullied for his lunch money.

9. Possums are "nature's sanitation engineers"
They eat bugs, worms, mice, rats and carrion. They are nonagressive and almost never have rabies or distemper.

Possums! Gotta love 'em.
