I know some freaks on another site were lambasting me over my sig line, whining about bandwidth and size. And I got an official reprimand from DU. That's entirely fair.
Well, I decided to read the rules for a clarification for my own sake. And that was when I've started noticing numerous sigs that flagrantly break the rules. MANY go well beyond the 200kb vertical maximum height (try 300 or in a few cases 400px) and I've seen small animated GIF that is 250kb in size! Anybody complain about that one yet? Even my tedious sig line prior to my reprimand didn't even come close to approaching that gargantuan size. If 56k users were angry at me over mine, why not that fella?
The rules: Your signature line may not include more than one graphic at any time. That graphic should be in either .jpg or .gif format, and should not exceed 500 pixels wide, 200 pixels tall, or 10 kilobytes...
Sorry to complain but there needs to be a general crackdown. Those rules are there to keep the 56k users and the people using lower screen resolutions (800x600 or lower) content.
