Early week polls in-Baby's approval numbers precipitous dip
Edited on Thu Aug-04-05 10:49 AM by underpants
Richmond (API)-First weekly polling of the new baby's job performance does not bode well but administration officials point to late uptick in ratings.

Insta-polling after the first night at home for Baby Josie show that about half of the respondents disapprove or her job performance so far and people seem split on the direction things are headed.

Josie spent much of her historic first night at home crying, only intensive efforts by her handlers seems to have lessened the impact on how she is viewed. Half of those polled said "God this is tough" while the half said "It's okay honey she is just working things out" and "We will be fine".

Margin of error is +/- 50% (depending on when the question is asked). Some respondents offered both opinions.

Polling after the second night of Josie's time at the house show encouraging results for the first year human. "Well after we got some time to think about it it all is great" added another respondent "Everything is going along fine now, it just took some time to figure out what was going on... hitting the ground running can be very hard, we just had to give her some time".

Josie, herself, had no comment as this article went to print.

:o :-)

BTW- I can't find the announcement thread (I wanted to show it to my wife). Not in my bookmarks, can't find it on SEARCH, Lounge Archive as are down.

10. Doing all right
Momma HAS to be up every 2-3 hours I just have to help when I can ( I am up for every feeding too). We were advised not to pump/bottle feed for the first 3 weeks (the entire time I am off work) so Momma has to get up and of course I do too.

This thread was inspired by the hilarious Calvin & Hobbes cartoons about Dad's weekly poll numbers-I always thought those were too damned funny.

11. If the baby has colic, I've been there and done that.
That was the hardest year of my life. Everybody had advice, and none of it worked. (At some point it got real annoying - sometimes it was worse than the inconsolable child.)

The eleven year old boy who resulted however is a fabulous human being who was worth all that grief. I never knew I could love this much.

16. I remember when my son was born
The first few days were a blur of fatigue, discomfort, disbelief, diapers. Then, one day, I picked him up in the middle of the night and his face was all scrunched up crying and I thought, Wow, I really, I mean -- REALLY -- love this little guy. And when they start smiling in a few weeks it is allllll worth it.

17. The first few weeks are the hardest.
With my firstborn, I remember thinking "What the hell did I get myself into". Much tears, frustration and aggravation, and no sleep.

Sounds like you're handling it like a pro, new daddy.
