8. EDIT: A statement from Mr. Hammond...
Edited on Thu Aug-04-05 01:51 PM by youspeakmylanguage
As for his own politics, Hammond said he's on "both sides of the aisle."

He sounds like a moderate to me.

7. Darrell Hammond is forgotten?
I wouldn't consider him a forgotten star.

Though I loved Phil Hartman, NO ONE has ever done a better Bill Clinton than Hammond.

11. Forgotten as in not a huge star, or...
...you could call them non-"A list" SNL alums.

18. OK, how about the SNL alums who haven't starred in a #1 movie...
...in the last 5 or so years?

I didn't realize I'd have to get this specific with "forgotten". It was probably the wrong word to use anyway.

23. Don't be touchy.
I'm not asking you to be specific - I simply really, truly, honestly had no idea anyone would consider Darrell Hammond a forgotten SNL star.

If you're talking about having recently been in a hit movie, that would include most of the SNL alums.

17. Phil Hartman as Barbara Bush was HYSTERICAL
And don't forget Phil as the Chairman of the Board of the most in depth political analysis show ever - - the Sinatra group!

"Ya lost me dere, cue ball." ROTFLMTO

21. Yes! I loved the sketch where Barbara was tr ying to get Nancy Reagan out.
And no one can touch Hartman's Sinatra. I can't stand watching old clips of Joe Piscopo doing Sinatra because Phil Hartman was so much better.

14. Right, but I was thinking of the less famous among that list...
...such as Kevin Nealon. Dana Carvey could probably qualify now, too.

13. January 19, 2005:
Bush thanks troops at gala event
Calls Iraq, Afghanistan 'landmark events in history of liberty'

Also performing were "Saturday Night Live's" Darrell Hammond, who took advantage of his position on stage to issue a personal plea.

"Not many Americans get a chance like this, so I'm just going to go for it," he said, directing his gaze to the president.

"Mr. President, isn't there anything you could do about Brad and Jennifer?" -- referring to the recent split of Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. The impersonator then offered his rendition of former President Clinton singing the Billy Ray Cyrus song, "My Achy Breaky Heart."

Hammond also offered his take on what would happen if real estate mogul and host of "The Apprentice" Donald Trump were to switch positions with Donald Rumsfeld. "We're gonna turn the Iraqi election into a big pageant," said Hammond as The Donald playing Rumsfeld. "It'll be huge, as big as my hair."

...I was responding to the quote in the context of an earlier post, accusing him of being a Bush supporter.
