Note the time lag between the utterance of the epithet ("bullshit") and when he gets up to leave. Novak actually leans back in his chair as if he's over it (coincidentally, this happens right as he's saying "Let it go" to Carville).

THEN he gets up and lurches off the stage.

My theory: The time lapse is just long enough for a gin-sodden brain to have the following internal dialogue:

"That WAS bullshit!"
"I agree with you."
"So what do we do about it?"
"I say 'Let it go.' (Novak says aloud: "Let it go.")
"I don't know about you, but I'm getting the f*ck out of here."
"I'm with you. Bastard did try to rag us on national TV."
"Let's stand up. Now how do you disconnect this mike?"
"OK legs: Left right left right left right...."
