1. I have a standing rule never to call off on payday
I don't trust the people I work for

2. Yea but I will have already had my check then Call in
The people I work for are hardcore republicans. I would put Kerry signs out in the yard in front of the restaurant and they would threaten if they found out who did it they would call the police.

Hell they even have on the menu real bright and bold Support Our Troops.

4. You shouldn't leave your employer in a lurch like that.
Perhaps you should have planned ahead and notified your employer. They could have tried to make arrangements to cover your absence.

5. I requested the day off well in advance
And they said they couldnt give me it off. But all the others who requested it off sure got it off. If any thing I figure this will teach them a lesson.

9. you'll be looking for a new job
if you asked for the day off and didn't get it and then call off, it looks suspicious

12. Why the delete?
Seems all the responses are genuine answers to the original question about ditching work and lying to your employer so you could go have fun with your friends.
