What do you watch/listen to when trying to nap?
There is nothing better than a nap on a weekend afternoon. However, one's family/significant other will not let you sleep if you just say "I'm taking a nap."

The best way to nap is to take over the couch and "watch" something on TV. Then things that get me to sleep

1. A golf tournament. Not a major, but the soothing tones put me right under.
2. Baseball game. Hometown team, turned real low. Reminds me of driving in the car as a kid.
3. Fishing show. All fishing shows are like Kabuki theatre. Very rigid rules/dialogue "Oh, that's a nice fish!" "Boy, that thing put up quite a fight."
4. That German guy who painted on PBS. He has not been on TV for a long time, but that man's words put me right to sleep.

So, what are your secrets to a good nap?

1. I do the same thing -
but I have digital music channels on my TV and I 'watch' "Soothing Sounds" - very relaxing instrumentals. Puts me right to sleep. :hi:

5. History Channel's MMB lineup
All the military documentaries that use the same tired heavy-metal-wannabe guitar playing to make their show sound more appealing to men.:boring:

6. God Speed You Black Emperor, Tribes of Neurot
they might sound like heavy metal bands (and the 2nd is the side project of the metal band Neurosis) both make excellent ambient instrumental music.

7. A fan.
The noise that comes from it is loud enough to cancel out any other noise and it also tends to hypnotize you into sleep.

8. Usually, have the man play SNES games.
SNES RPG music is easy for me to sleep to. Maybe it's the repetition.

I also like listening to my favorite bands or music genres. Puts me out pretty quick.

I used to fall asleep when someone watched football, but now I like football and can't help but watch. :)
