3. Save the receipt!!!! I am still cursing those B$%&*#(@(rdS!
Bought some slip covers from them at Christmas, went home, put them on the couches I had carefully measured, and they didn't fit, though the package said they would. No big deal, I took them back, expecting a simple exchange and to pay the difference.

Without the receipt, they would only exchange the items at the lowest sale price they had ever sold the covers at, which, interestingly, was roughly a third of what we paid. They would only exchange them for the next size up if we paid the full price on the next side up. So we would have had to pay roughly two thirds again what we paid to "exchange" them to the proper size.

GRRR!!! Save the receipt! I won't have to, since i plan to never even walk in front of one of their stores again.

For the record, I just spent about a thousand bucks on stuff I could have bought from them for less. So they lost a bit more than they gained.

Okay, rant over. Good luck with the buyer's remorse and all! :-)

4. It's OK, if he complains, don't explain, just look at him and sigh.
Walk away, read a book, put things away. He doen't really want to talk about it anyway. :)

Actually, this often works. Don't argue, rationalize, nada.

5. That's my normal tactic
Walk away and let him rant and rave. He usually gets over it quickly. I bought things for the house, not for myself! The bone of contention might be that I did it alone without his input (although he chose all of the cabinets, carpeting and tile and bought some decorative items himself when we first bought the house).
