NL West is the saddest division EVER!
San Diego 53 - 55 .491
Arizona 53 - 57 .482
LA Dodgers 48 - 60 .444
San Francisco 46 - 61 .430
Colorado 39 - 68 .364

Wouldn't it be something if say, San Diego, finishes with a losing record but wins the division, then gets hot in the playoffs and wins it all?

I cant recall a division winner having a losing record at season's end.

1. I suspect the winner of the division will have a winning record.
After all teams spend the majority of the latter part of the season playing intra-division, so it stands to reason that someone will fatten up on the Giants and Rockies and Dodgers and come out with a winning record. San Diego is my bet to do that. They're the best team out there (not saying much, it's like being the best ice skater in Ecuador, but still).

2. Did ya see where the Giants radio announcer
got in hot water, all frustrated, said Alou had Cream of Wheat for brains and the batters were all slapping at slop?

4. He said that? Cool! That is hardcore!
Whats wrong with him. Doesn't he know that fans/people, cant handle the truth?

Reminds me of when the Yankees were the laughing stock of the AL during the late 60's-early 70's, one game only about 2000 fans showed up at Yankee Stadium and the announcer had the camera pan the empty seats and commenting on how sad it was. He was fired after that game.

5. Well, there were racial undertones
I paraphrased, he said something about the ethnicity of the batters, and the cream of wheat remark was interpreted to mean the black chef guy on the box I guess.

Still, I can understand his frustration. Gets to this point of the season, its gotta suck to call the game for a bunch of losers who've no chance and play like they dont care.

It'd be like Uecker calling the game in that movie, hitting the sauce

3. but at least they have that new stadium
downtown that no one bothers to go to because there ain't no parking. how many millions did the city end up subsidising that for in the end anyhow? i moved before it was all done...

and if a team ever deserved to win a division with a losing record it's the pads... ;)
