Car's scent leads cops to pile of pot

As the 2005 Chrysler minivan crawled down 26th Street, its driver lowered a window.

Out wafted a scent that was unmistakable: marijuana.

Unfortunately for the man behind the wheel, the smell didn't go unnoticed . . . by a nearby squad car.

Police pulled over the minivan Saturday on West 26th and made quite a large discovery: roughly 355 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of nearly $1 million. snip

Pesqueira, of Tucson, also was cited for having a fictitious driver's license. It showed an expiration date of 2048, police said.

As to the Driver's license...They are good until you turn 65 here in AZ. When my son went to NAU (I was living in CA at the time), he showed me his license. It had an expiration date in 2043. So a 2048 exp date is very common if you are still young.

2. Um, don't they update them periodically?

Our are good for 8 years, which I think is pretty long. Can you really get one at 16 in AZ and have it good until you're 65? I think most people change physically just a wee bit in the years between.

3. I believe they are provisional for

the first couple of years for teenagers. Not sure if that is the case, but I seem to have heard that. My son was 22 when he moved there and it did say it was good for that length of time.

I moved here 4 years ago and my license is good until 2017.
