Listened to "Christian" pop music all day.

A couple of carpenters were working on rebuilding my porch, had their radio with them, and they were tuned ALL DAY to this Christian radio station that played the WORST music I've ever heard. Like elevator music for Jesus. Funny thing is, some of the greatest music ever written is religious music (Bach's Mass in B minor comes to mind) -- and yet they eat up this boring, bland, treacly, feel-good junk.

So I stayed in the house and tried to drown it all out with stuff like "American Idiot." And a bit of Bach.

Boy howdy, I gotta say Christian rock sure doesn't rock.

2. i will affirm your observation

if there is one genre of music that grates on me more than this crap that passes for "country" today it is christian rock. we have a few stations that play this stuff in my area. when i hit scan on the radio, i can tell instantly if it is on the christian rock/pop station. the music screams unorginality and faux emotion. one has to realize there is only so much you can write about when your sole well of inspiration is how much jesus loves you.

if there is a god, i am sure he is pissed with the pop music made in his name. it is talentless uninspired tripe.

3. My neighbor had a painter

that played the same stuff outside in her backyard all day.

I decided that was a good enough reason to mow the yard. And take extra time weed eating and doing an extra good job of blowing and cleaning up.

4. I have actually found a Christian band that doesn't suck

Surprising, I know, but they're a hardcore band called Underoath. They really do rock. I didn't even realize they were a Christian band until the last song on the album.

5. Here in So Cal we have this station called "The Fish"

Ugh, I hear ya. Talk about some of the worst music ever made.

6. They had a, "Godstock" here a few years back that was cancelled because

the stage was hit by lightning.
Nobody was hurt. It was just funny.
