it's always a good idea to pack some warm clothes but we also usually get a week or two of 80-90 degree days in sept so pack some shorts.

since we have lots of rip off tourist traps like fisherman's warf I'm recommending two free events that you might enjoy.

on 9/11 we have a big opera party in Golden Gate Park, its free, in sharon meadow, starts at 1:30 but people start arriving really early and party.

Through out the month of sept Shakespeare in the Park is performing Much Ado About Nothing at the presidio here'a a link with performance times and maps

The SF Blues festival is taking place on 9/24 & 25 it isn't free any more but it has a great line up.
