I have seen profiles which said State - Denial. You don't have to post personal info on there but by disabling it, it does cause some to wonder why.

6. When I first started posting at DU

I didn't realize I even had a profile until someone asked me why it was disabled. When I see a newbie with a disabled profile I generally assume this is what is going on. Unless that newbie is spouting the obvious Repub talking points, of course.

I will keep an eye on their posts to see if there is anything fishy going on. If not, I just shrug it off and keep going.

edit: Most of the time I only think to check a profile if I am suspicious of something someone said, or if I want to know whether someone is a male or female.

says nothing. that way people can see who is or who isnt. when they were asking people to volunteer it was a way to see who hadnt joined up yet. sort of shaming people to join type of thing. that is how i and a few others i have discussed this with took it as..

who were upset that their profile stated that they were part of it. I think that they were concerned about letters to the editors and things where they could be identified. I remember seeing a thread where someone was extremely upset that their profile showed that they were a member of the corp.
