You know the deal; I play everything, and I mean "everything", so knock yourselves out. If I can't get them on later tonight, they'll be on by tomorrow night's show..

7. Yeah. That's a good one
I've heard it's about unrequited love, and that it's about pedophillia. I don't know, but that is a 'get it on' song.

"I dreamt about you last night
and i fell out of bed twice
you can pin and mount me
like a butterfly
oh, but 'take me to the heaven of your bed'
was something that you never said
two lumps, please
you're the bees knees
but so am I..."

11. "Boogie Street" . . .
by Leonard Cohen, in keeping with the "Nighthawks" theme.

Boogie Street

O Crown of Light, O Darkened One,
I never thought we'd meet.
You kiss my lips, and then it's done:
I'm back on Boogie Street.

A sip of wine, a cigarette,
And then it's time to go
I tidied up the kitchenette;
I tuned the old banjo.
I'm wanted at the traffic-jam.
They're saving me a seat.
I'm what I am, and what I am,
Is back on Boogie Street.

And O my love, I still recall
The pleasures that we knew;
The rivers and the waterfall,
Wherein I bathed with you.
Bewildered by your beauty there,
I'd kneel to dry your feet.
By such instructions you prepare
A man for Boogie Street.

O Crown of Light, O Darkened One...

So come, my friends, be not afraid.
We are so lightly here.
It is in love that we are made;
In love we disappear.
Though all the maps of blood and flesh
Are posted on the door,
There's no one who has told us yet
What Boogie Street is for.

O Crown of Light, O Darkened One,
I never thought we'd meet.
You kiss my lips, and then it's done:
I'm back on Boogie Street.

A sip of wine, a cigarette,
And then it's time to go...

15. How Bout Love Machine
I'm just a love machine
and.i.don't.work.for.nobody.but.you

I hate that song, but love that line.

If I had a souped up jimmy car, I'd have love machine painted in swirly squiggly letters on teh back quarter panel. Alas, "love machine" on a 98 Protege is slightly, uh, rank.

37. My husband really likes them and had been trying to download their album
for quite some time (years). They're pretty rare, ya know, at least in the States. The album has been out of print for years, so buying it outright was out of the question.

We were at a book sale in Seattle and it's HUGE---old library books and tapes and EVERYTHIG. It's so big it takes up TWO airplane hangars TWICE a year! yeah.

So we're in one hangar that has all the library's old records, tapes, cd's---and out of a billion CD's to look though, he picks the stack with THe Primitives, and because it was 1/2 price day, he got a sealed brand new CD for .25 (that's like 1/4 of a loonie ha ha ha)

great find

41. I love library book sales
We've got the best a/v section of any library I've ever seen up here; it's like an incredibly cool indie store. And the library sales they have are fantastic for getting some obscure stuff that doesn't get loaned out much, so I'm always there to pounce..

43. This sale is huge and you have to bring your own bags
which is fine. THere are people there who bring fugging SUITCASES and just load up the car. I suppose alot of them resell them in stores or on Ebay.

It's a madhouse. Hardbacks are $1, oversized $2, softcovers between .50-1.00 and on Sundays, everything is 1/2 off which ROCKS!!! But you hate to have to wait til Sunday because all the good stuff is there on Saturday.

So we'd go on Saturday, hide books we liked, then go back on Sunday and find them (if we could) and pay 1/2 off for them.

Of course, we are constant movers and books are the WORST to move. Sometimes, being literate has its downsides :)

46. i think it's a sin to throw away a book
so we're always haulin down to Goodwill to donate.

We have limited space, so if we go to the booksale and buy 20 books, we have to cull the remaining selection down a bit.

I haven't gone to one of those sales in a year (we used to go twice a year, every year), and we've thinned the books. It's time to restock---I don't have anything new to read!!!
