Did you write stories as a kid?
I used to write stories that could be horror films, such as "The Tomato That Ate Cleveland."

1. I kept trying to regurgitate "Little House". I am somewhat more original
now.

2. I thought them up
I was too lazy to write them down. Now, I'm a published romance novelist.

7. All the time, though I never wrote them out
I had an entire sequel to Escape to Witch Mountain worked out in fifth grade. I used to write out screenplays for short stories I would read. I don't think I wrote any short stories down until seventh grade, and I once had a teacher accuse me of plagerizing something because mine was too good (and because one of my friends DID plagerize a story and he caught her--guilt by association.). So I made up another story while he watched, and he never doubted me again.

Now I can't write worth a flip. I was way smarter in high school.

8. I wrote, too
but it was always fantasy or SF oriented, not horror. Sort of like being an alien princess whose father was an alien who had come to earth, or time travel stories with many different outcomes, or poetry by the scores on varied topics, even social issues (which is kind of heavy for a teenager in the 60s and 70s). I also wrote about TV show heroes, and wrote Star Trek fan fiction and other stuff along that line. I finished my first novel in 1973 before I graduated from high school as well. I also edited a fanzine and contributed to several newsletters, and wrote for the school magazine and was an editor as well.
