Washington DC check in thread Sept. 2005

who is going to be in DC the weekend of the 24-26? Parties, protests and Pandas!

I live relatively close to DC, only about a 30-45 minute drive from Downtown, about 20 minutes from the farthest out Metro stop in New carollton. I will be there, with pants on.

I've been posting messages here since 2002, and have only met one other DUer (Edvadem), whom Hubby and I have known personally since well before the advent of DU. Boy, was I surprised when he asked me if I'd heard of Democratic Underground, LOL!

I have some arthritis in my left ankle which'll make it a little difficult to stand, but I'll just bring a lawn chair with us. ;)

is to drive around aimlessly until I find either 50 or 495. Though I only ever find 50. This is why I take the metro whenever possible.

Actually, I am going to Baltimore this weekend with the fam. Staying at the Marriott Inner Harbor.

Annapolis is one of my favorite spots. My husband and I ate dinner at the Chart House there 2 years ago when I was at a conference. It was really nice.

Look, you want to be Mr. Negativity go for it. Personally I find it rude and insulting. I thought Kathy did a great job with that last gathering in Boston and my only wish was that I would be able to attend but family obligations kept me in Harrisburg.

Wish people well! I had (and still have) nothing but positive things to say to all people to whatever gatherings they attend. There is no contest for the 'biggest' party? Most of my philly gatherings lately have only had about 20-30 people. But this time we happen to have a great opportunity not only to get together and have a great party but to do something positive by making our voices heard in DC.

You do remember Oct 2002 - it's not just about the party!
