Why don't atheists and agnostics have picnics and shit?
I mean christians have like "picnic revivals", "volleyball bible tournaments", or like "softball christ squad". Atheists and agnostics don't have that sort of cool stuff. I think they should. I would love to see atheists play volleyball, and when they miss a shot they can yell "Jesus Christ". Agnostics would be even more fun, cause they don't know anything. You can ask if they want a hot dog and they'd get weirded out by the whole thing.

Now I am agnostic, and have been for a while. But I would love to crash an atheist picnic, and right before I start eating I would say grace, just to fuck with them.

Just a thought.

1. I'm an atheist and would not be offended by your saying grace as long
as you don't expect me to join in.

3. You missed the Oregonians for Rationality pot-luck.
So did I.

Irrationally enough, it was held in Skamania, WA this year.

6. 'Cause I'm not part of an organized group
I guess I could join one, but why? I go to picnics for other stuff. And when you crash that picnic and say grace? Say "grace"--get it? (ok, ok, that's dumb I know.)

8. You're wrong. Freethought Society of Greater Philadelphia is having
its annual picnic in September. We play Blasphemous BINGO with a nun character and the oldest Catholic school girl, and we eat well too. Lots and lots of other stuff. The founders of Camp Quest usually make it for the picnic.

12. It's a hoot. We get into costume and ad-lib an act where we're doing
Catholic BINGO but with a serious twist. The nun plays it straight while the world's oldest schoolgirl (complete with plaid skirt and white shirt) tests the limits of the nun's patience with her impudence and irreverence. An example: The nun pulls out O-25 and the schoolgirl announces "O-25. O-25. O like in obedience. (wait a beat) I like obedience . . . " in a very suggestive way. Stuff like that. We really should take our act on the road.
