Let's hear it for California!
Damn it's a beautiful day here, near the Stanford Campus!

Rolling green hills, mist at higher elevations...and you can see the bay, the sun shining off the water.

Up near my home in Livermore Valley it was beautiful too - rolling golden hills and the smell of anise everywhere.

I'll be in the Redwoods this weekend ...and I can think of any better sensory experience. The woods cool you down, the smell of a redwood forest is nothing less than sublime, and the trees are just beautiful in their own right.

3. The hills are brown down here (San Diego county)
but I was camping up near Big Sur last weekend and it was truly beautiful. Love the redwoods and oh my God, the stars were awesome.

5. Too bad
It's destined to fall into the ocean once Lex Luthor fires a nuclear missile to hit the San Andreas fault line so that all the real estate he bought to the east of it will become the new coastline.

7. Woo- hoo for CA!
Alas I won't be back until December, but that's the best time of year in Southern California anyways, IMO. :)

11. Not Fresno
the hills outside Fresno.

I grew up in the Bay Area, and I like it there, but I could NEVER afford to live there. :(

13. I moved here from Arcata
Edited on Thu Aug-11-05 11:44 AM by XemaSab
because not only does Arcata suck, but everyone living in Arcata sucks (except mike_c).

On edit: I think I'm just burned out on California in general. Before you ask, Mill Valley, Redding, and Sacramento suck too. Oakland and LA do not suck.
