My conversation with the Roomba
Robb: Hey, buddy! I'm hoo-ooome! :D

Roomba:

Robb: So, where is everybody?

Roomba:

Robb: Did you do a good job today?

Roomba:

Robb: So I had a good day ... got a lot done at work, and things are going well.

Roomba:

Robb: Hey, there's the puppy! Heee-eeey, puppy!!

Roomba: Fuck you.

2. It buzzes and whirrs
It's nice because it takes care of itself, mostly, except for when I have to clean it. When it's time for that, I have to sneak up on it, because it knows I'm thinking "bath time" and scoots off under something, usually the heaviest piece of furniture.

The other night I came home and it had stopped by the telephone on the little table by the couch. The little red light was flickering in the darkness, and I couldn't help but think it had been dialing someone. Probably gets a little lonely from time to time, especially now that the dogs have gotten used to it.

I should point out this isn't the first thing it's said to me. Last week as I was drifting off to sleep, I distinctly heard a voice say "Valentino."

Looking around the room, it had to have come from the Roomba.

3. When we're in that state between sleep and consciousness...
The dead are way more likely to communicate with us.

7. Seriously, does the roomba vacuum well
I have no idea of cost but I hate to vacuum. So, would you get one again?

9. He does great
At least I think it's a "he." I'm not sure why I think that.

I remember my girlfriend bought him for me for my birthday, $99. Seemed like a great gift until he started running up long distance phone bills. I don't know who he calls, but he calls someone in New Hampshire and says "Valentino" before hanging up. Then he does it again.

This goes on all night until I open and shut the door to the oven three times. For some reason that makes him back off the phone and at least pretend to be cleaning again.

8. This post reminds me of a seven-letter word that starts with "D" and
Edited on Thu Aug-11-05 06:24 PM by fob
means, 'a small object, such as a stick or stone, suitable for hurling at another object'.

That and it's funny!

"It's not dead. It's Roomba!" <---- Instant classic.
