What TV show produced the best spinoffs?
All in the Family would have to be a top contender, spawning Maude and The Jeffersons. Maude in turn spawned Good Times, which may be the only successful spinoff of a spinoff.

What shows would you nominate?

3. How about the Mary Tyler Moore Show?
No Rhoda fans here, I guess.

10. Or Phyllis? or Lou Grant?
Edited on Thu Aug-11-05 07:13 PM by gmoney
"Phyllis" was actually the top rated show for a while, I think. "Lou Grant" was a big hit for a while, too.

And I think "Joe" was a spinoff of "Rhoda" -- right?

Why do I know this crap?

11. You know more TV than I do. I stopped watching in the 70s.
It's just in the air. I enjoyed the original Saturday Night Live and Monty Python's Flying Circus. After that I just got involved in other things.

7. Happy Days had hits with their first two
Laverne & Shirley was a hit, as was Mork & Mindy. But by the time they tried Lenny & Squiggy and then Joanie Loves Chaci :puke: they had obviously spread the formula too thin.

And wasn't there another show... something about an angel and a devil dude who always said "Beelzebub" in the same way that Kirk would say "Beam Me Up Scotty!" (Except it was beaming down in this case, I guess  ) That one was gone so fast I forgot the name.

8. Love America Style
From which Happy Days was spun-off (which in turned spun-off Laverne & Shirley and Mork & Mindy).

9. "The Honeymooners" is just about responsible for every animated show
revolved around a family.

Flintstones.
Jetsons.
And all those other bullshit family sitcoms that big media pumped into our houses. Including the Cosby Show.
