I'm 45 and was carded tonight!!!!

After dropping my daughter for her piano lesson I stopped at the package store for a bottle of wine. I wandered for a bit since I was killing time, perhaps the clerk translated my delay as nervousness, anyway when I went to check out she asked for my ID! Shocked by the question I asked, “Pardon?” And she said it again! So I gave it to her, after looking at it she appeared embarrassed and said, “Well, you’re doing something right.” This from a woman who looks my age.

Yikes! She might have been 19 years old!

It has been at least five years since I’ve been carded. I didn’t notice that it stopped for a few years, then thought I was lucky there was any doubt through my thirties.

My mid-life crisis is on hold for the next two weeks.
