Three weeks and no bad stuff
Quit smoking 7/21/05.
Quit drinking 7/17/05.
Quit gambling 7/14/05.

I also started working out and dieting when I quit smoking and I've lost 7 pounds. I need to lose a lot more, though. But I guess that's a good start.

3. Thanks
I post stuff like this for motivation. It makes it more difficult for me to fall back into my old habits when I tell everyone I know that I've quit doing that stuff. It makes me want to be good.

6. Thanks
Look for a spectacular increase in sales for David sun flower seeds and Wrigley spearmint gum. You may want to buy some of that stock now.

8. Thank you
I've cheated on my diet a couple of times. But when you boil it down to either a hot fudge sundae or a cigarette I think you'll agree that wasn't a bad move.

12. I do have more energy
But where I really notice improvement is with my breathing, and my overall attitude. Over the past few years I haven't really had a bad attitude, but I guess I was sort of fatalistic.

13. I've always thought
that inertia feeds depression, fatalistic thinking, etc. In my experience, a body is meant to be _in motion_. I'm glad you're enjoying some benefits to your commitment to improved health. :pals:

14. I will indeed
Without the drugs and probably without the sex as well. Rock music gets me through the night at my job.

16. Good for you, Droopy!
This is a very good start! You should be proud...

Remember: The journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step...

And you've done a whole lot MORE than just one step, my friend!

17. Thanks Peggy
I will keep posting these little updates as I go along because it helps me to stay committed to what I'm doing. I don't want to have to come in here one night and tell you all that I failed. Especially after getting as far as I have now.
