3. yeah, ripped from the Mojo Wire

like that "air" recording of AC/DC's "Big Balls" i made from my friend's tape of a copy of the record recorded from the stereo speaker. long story, but it was the only way to get it without our parents finding out we had it.

4. When I was 11 or 12 and first reading Hunter Thompson in the

Rolling Stone, and I was finally able to get a definition of "Mojo Wire," I remember being astonished that such technology was available, affordable, and fairly portable.

Anyway, that "Big Balls" tape must have rocked your world like no other.

6. yeah, the good old days

when the fax machine was like some sort of voodoo majick....

my friends' mom was a very devout church-going Catholic woman, and was very strict about what came into the house. in fact, when he told his mom he wanted to hang up posters of his favorite rock bands (Van Halen, Scorpions-- this was the early 80s) she asked him to "pray" about it first (like God really cares what some pimply pre-pubescent hangs on his bedroom walls!).

So when he got a third-hand copy of "Big Balls" from his cousin, it was like we'd smuggled reefer into the house. :)
