So, what's for dinner?
I'm still undecided. I'll probably go out somewhere, since I'm a lousy cook.

Howzabout you?

15. bloody marys with beer chasers
one of my all-time favorite breakfasts! there's a bar here in Minneapolis (the Uptown) that does them very well. Only $4.95 for a 16oz, and you get to keep the pint glass.

too bad i'm off the booze for awhile....

2. Steak and baked potato
Not too imaginative, but my favorite Friday night meal.

It's Costco beef, which I'll cook on the mini-Weber. I'll also have a cheap, red wine from Costco. Can't remember the brand, but I buy it by the case there.

3. Wheat Toast
I also had toast for breakfast and lunch. I am low on groceries right now and I don't feel like going to the store. I was thinking of ordering something out but I can't make my mind up. Until then it will be toast for dinner.

Local thin crust with green olives. My son doesn't like it so he's having Moosewood pesto pasta and the Moosewood that is served with tomato sauce.

20. Chicken nihari.
Pakistani, usually with red meat. Very spicy. Adding fresh grated ginger actually cuts the spiciness.

Over basmati. Raw carrots and lettuce on the side.

Annoying to make from scratch. I buy handy little spice mixes at the local supermarket.

26. I stopped by the deli counter and got a pound of wild rice salad,
half a pound of fresh beet salad, and a couple of small grilled chicken breasts. I'll be drinking the inevitable Spanish rioja with that.

Later when I'm watching rented movies, I'll probably succumb to ice cream.
