since the advent of Kleenex, it seems most fellas don't carry hankies anymore. has the pocket hankie gone the way of the hat, post-JFK?

i myself got into the habit of always carrying one a couple years ago, and i bring one with just about every time i leave the house. Howzboutchoo?

Seriously though, in construction you see them used often as sweatbands or to cover your head before putting a hardhat on. I've only ever seen older dudes using them as snotrags and that is rare. I have no idea if they are still used in business or formal ware.

I always carry one when I have a cold. The reason is this. You can use the most ridiculously expensive, aloe-infused premium kleenex "for sensitive noses" and you'll still end up with a sore, red and painful nose if you have a cold. A regular cloth handkerchief won't do that to you.

The old-timers know something. I'm only 37 myself.

10. My husband carries a clean one every day and he

uses it, too. He has rhinitis? sp? and has to use it frequently. At home he uses tons of tissues.

14. Yes indeed I do - and I usually carry a spare as well

because if you leave one in your pocket and wash the trousers - WAY less messy afterwards than with Kleenex.

Though if I'm just around the house I'll use Kleenex.
