Do DUers like dogs as much as cats?
I see a bunch of cat posts and pics on this site, but never see dog posts/pics. Do DUers have something against dogs? I personally think cats are mean!

... but I'd rather have a dog. :)

A Jack Russell terrier would be perfect :)

10. I love both.
As an apartment dweller it is nearly impossible to find one that allows dogs. Lots allow cats. If and when I own I would love to add a dog to my family.

14. I love dogs. I just don't want one. -- No, I take that back.
I'd love to have a dog or two. But since I run an unofficial cat haven it would be impractical. I don't have the time or energy required to care properly for a dog.

:hi: Used. :7

16. I don't have pets, but I definitely like dogs better than most cats.

(I have nothing against cats though -- please don't flame me. :scared:)

However, I'd much rather my neighbors have cats than dogs because of the noise that most dogs make.

17. I hate dogs.
In common with cats, I am not a social animal. The usual extroversion and needy behaviour of dogs annoys me. And they smell.

20. I'm a dog man.
I have cats but they stay outside. They have a job, and thats the only reason they are here.

You just can't do the same things with a cat as a dog. Try getting you cat to fetch a ball, or catch a frisbee, or herd a goat. Not to mention my dogs protect my children, something a cat will never do.

26. I like both
but a cat is much easier for a single person to keep - an inside kitty doesn't need to be walked, doesn't get neurotic when it's home by itself during the day (it's a great time to snooze), uses the cat box and is low-hassle.

I used to be pretty exclusively a dog person, but I have really come to appreciate cats - so much that I adopted one this weekend. He's a sweetie!

I'd love to have a dog, but it's just not practical.

27. I like both.
Cats are lower maintenance, and I was an apartment dweller for years, so I've always had cats. I bought my first house with my husband a couple of years ago, and we'd planned on getting a dog then, but then I promptly got pregnant and we've put it off. When the littlest is older, we probably will.
