3. You're male, liberal and caring.
You're also probably broke. I'm a firm believer in the "women prefer jerks" school of thought. I see tweakers (obvious meth addicts) dating total babes.

Now just pretend to be a 'thuglican and treat women like shit. They'll flock to you.

You can call be bitter but it's a sad truth.

6. I think Mr P is out looking for a woman to gird them for him
Self girding can be so disheartening after a while.

9. Pre-girdled, fixed actually. the ex suggested a snip....
and being a "good liberal dad" with 2 kids I got one.

She didn't mention that she was sleeping with a co-worker at the time.

I think she was hoping the snip would be higher, like around my neck.

I think I deserve some kind of dating Darwin Award.

17. my question is, "why do YOU like jerks?"
I never understood the "why do women like jerks?" question. Why do men like women who like jerks?

If you only end up dating/marrying women who treat you like shit, you need to look at yourself. Why are you dating/marrying those women? If you say it's because all women are like that, I call bullshit. If it is because all the women you happen to be attracted to are like that, then there's your problem right there.

19. Um, women control the sexual economy. I settled.
She really was my best friend at the time I married her. No, she was not perfect; her looks did not live up to her personality.

But....

Once we were married and had 2 kids she had "other expectations" about who I was supposed to be. I don't claim I was perfect.

12. Sorry, but the assholes really DO belong with the
stunning but empty-headed and spoiled rotten "babes" that young guys tend to lust after.

Young Guy Mistake #1: Trying to play Sir Galahad and "fix up the life" of a screwed-up woman.

Young Guy Mistake #2: Feeling sorry for himself and cursing all women instead of trying to find a woman who has her head on straight.

Young Guy Mistake #3: Ignoring the perfectly fine women (no more and no less "hot" than he himself is) who might be attracted to him because he cares too much about what the other guys think of him.

Young Guy Mistake #4: Coming on an Internet message board and complaining about how "women" don't like nice guys, when this complaint comes up every week practically in the Lounge and has already been debunked by real live women (not by inexperienced young guys, who tend to tell each other this legend so they can feel better about their own social ineptness).

Young Guy Mistake #5: Not taking the time to think about whether he's not as nice as he thinks he is but is rather overly desperate and passive-aggressive.

13. Heah, yeah, OF COURSE it's the guys fault.
Yesterday at my little towns peace vigil where I attend several times monthly; no women under 60. Zero. This is the NORM.

Today at Chico's Camp Casey much lauded in general discussion. One under 40 obviously married, (ring, infant) the rest 50+. It's a college town, the bars and coffehouses are doing brisk business.

Do a Yahoo personals search. Use the criteria Liberal or Very Liberal, compare that to the number you will pull if you use Christian.

Peace isnt' sexy anymore. Caring even less so. If you older women think it should be then you could help out by introducing liberal minded young people to each other. Some of us would rather stay single than swallow our beliefs.

"Make love not war" is STONE COLD DEAD.

14. Hmph, there are hardly any young people of any type at peace activities
that I attend.

It's not my job to recruit young women into the peace movement--I don't even know that many, not since I left college teaching 12 years ago. They're YOUR peers. YOU work on them. And who knows? One of them might even become attracted to you.

18. Well we're going the way of the Shakers
I never said it way your job to do anything. Just have some compassion for younger men who may have legitimate frustrations.

Being liberal or an activist Democrat guy cannot equate with celibacy in this country if we are not to be a fascist state.

And no I don't have solutions. I can barely describe the problem.

20. In your age group, unlike mine, peace demonstrations are not on people's
mental maps.

If you know a young woman who is attractive to you, scope out her political views, and if she leans anti-war or anti-Bush invite her to a peace march. If she refuses, move on. But a peace march makes a nice, non-threatening first date if you let it. At the very least, you may recruit a new activist.

Or ask those older women in your peace group if they have any nice daughters, nieces, etc.

Just calling the shots as I see them. I want a better world. I also have to be a human being while it works it's way around to me.

24. Still, there are bound to be some liberal women wondering where
all the nice liberal men are.

Stay away from the business majors and sorority members and look among the theater, music, and art crowds. Those women tend to be liberal, and a higher than usual percentage of the men in those programs are gay, so they may be on the lookout for someone like you.

16. Amen, brother
Although I am not broke, having had a good job for 20 years and now having a different good job, I AM male, liberal, caring, funny, fun, kind, and smart. Alas, no flocks of women of my own age or any other.

23. have you considered dating older women?
before i married my wife, i always dated women in their 40's to early 50's...even when i was much younger i preferred mature women...

now i know this is a generalization but older women are usually smarter and more confident. they have less illusions about life and men, and they usually display more character and talent.

seems to me you're limiting yourself by dismissing the older set...
