Has anyone put in windows?

Has anyone put in there own windows or pulled wires in a new addition. Is it difficult? Can anyone give me any pointers?

but it's not the kind of thing you can explain on a board.

Go buy a good all-in-one home improvement manual. They cover things step-by-step and include LOTS of visuals.

5. With care, yes.

The only concern you might have is final electrical connections.

You can have an electrician come in to:
1) check your connections
2) check your connections and do the tie-in to the panel
3) do the final connections.

Either way, mounting the boxes, buying and pulling the wire yourself will save you a whack of money.

8. I've put in plenty of windows. Are they replacement windows or are they

and just my luck my contractor decided to have a midlife crisis breakdown during my construction. Now we are almost done but we have to put our windows in, finish the electric and heating, vinyl. Some of our windows are big and 2 of them are arched which worries me because we need to cut the opening a little more for them.

If the framing is already done then putting the windows in really isn't very hard. It's just intimidating at first. Essentially you just center it in the opening, check that it's sitting level/plumb, adjust it with shims if its not level, then just nail it into the sheathing. Stuff some insulation in any gaps between the window and frame, pushing it in with a putty knife. I think that home depot and lowes have pamphlets for free with instructions and simple diagrams. They are at the desk where you order windows and doors.

19. And as far as the electrical...

as long as you're careful you should be able to do the work(or at least most of it) I'd recommend picking up a book on basic electrical wiring, like the Black and Decker one, they've got lots of good illustrations and explain stuff well.
