Is the movie, "The Day After Tomorrow" good?

It's on HBO tonight and I think I'm going to give it a try. It's it worth it? :shrug:

Plus I like Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhall (sp?) so yes, I'd say go for it.

Interesting, if somewhat implausible story. But the FX were incredible, especially the storm surge.

Some of it's pretty good, but you need to suspend belief for other parts.

BTW, I believe Art Bell, of late night radio, is behind the premise of the film. Some scientists believe that what is depicted in the film could actually happen. You might want to consult your local scientist about that though.

8. It was all right. I didn't care for it that much (very slight spoiler).

There was a part with wolves that I didn't like (all I'll say, I don't want to give anything away). The premise was kinda hard to believe...but it has some good moments, too...ultimately, it's up to you. :)

But when it came out, I thought the superstorm scenario unlikely ... though there is evidence that such storms are possible, and indeed have happened.

Global warming seems to be accelerating, as evidenced by recent thawing of large portions of the Siberian permafrost (and resultant outgassing of methane) ... who knows what will happen? We are on unexplored ground, here.

Irony. Some jerk from the Cato institute ridiculed it on the basis of softball sized hailstones being "impossible". Shortly thereafter, Houston was hammered by hardball sized hailstones. I thought it poetic of mother nature to so respond.
