Basically they tried to win the Christians over to the left. Too bad it didn't work :(

That was back when all gas stations were full serve and they checked your oil, washed your windows and checked the tire pressure. I used to have a picture somewhere of a gas station in the late 60's or early 70's with the price showing - I think it's 23 cents a gallon.
