iPod question

So when I got canned from work, my last act before leaving was to delete iTunes off the work computer.

I have all my bird songs on my iPod, representing thousands of tracks and MANY MANY hours of manually entering the bird names and taxonomic info such as order and family.

So how screwed am I?

Will I now be unable to update my iPod without wiping it clean the next time I connect it to iTunes?

1. I haven't done iPod stuff lately but

I thought there was a way to send from the iPod to the computer.

But check 'Help' before you plug in the Pod.
