Poll question: Ever post a thread, edit it, and then blame the edit when it sinks?
Edited on Tue Aug-16-05 11:37 PM by jpgray
I think that red text makes a post look insecure. Like a comic that stutters delivering the punchline--it just doesn't get the same reaction

1. I wish it was smaller and at the end of the message. It really distracts
at the top.

5. I wish
I could go *poof* to a thread I've started if it was too seriously too bad for an edit to help . . . like when people have already noticed

And when the editing period has expired and my horrible typo is just hanging there.

20. The morning after is better with an unwanted thread
than with an unwanted stranger in your bed.

26. A rotten piece of meat is bad,
but when it talks, hangs around, and wants coffee and your number, a rotten piece of meat is really bad.

29. Yep, I promise.
And given your thread about your loss the other day, I can guess one of things you'd like to 'fix.'

I hope there aren't too many other big stresses going on for you right now. :pals:

30. I'm moving everyone gently forward.
planting flowers & trees to add beauty to the sadness I cannot erase ... some things are meant to be ... accepting them with as much grace as possible is the best we can hope for

it has been a year of great loss for us all, perhaps the worst is over

31. I hope the worst has passed, too.
But if not we just keep going on. (Though there are days when that time machine sounds really good.) Seeing the beauty that's already here, and making new beauty--that's one of the best pursuits. Despite everything, the world is an amazingly beautiful place.

Peace.

13. Your thread inspired this
I looked at it, and I thought "that's pretty amusing, but since no one's replied and it's edited, there must be something wrong with the thread or the poster who posted it."

18. Again, vast left-wing conspiracy to keep me down
My non-edited posts sink just as fast.

The edit, if you're wondering:
I changed the title from "Jonathan Swift had it backwards" to "Jonathan Swift had it all wrong" when I realized that I wasn't really reversing the situation as much as I was rearranging it altogether.

25. I blame Bush and the mainstream media for all failures, even my own.
It means I'm right most of the time but I'm developing a nasty Republican-esque habit of never admitting I'm wrong, no matter what. :-)
