There are days when we all post the right thread, at the right moment, and it finds the right audience. We have a nice discussion, we have some nice camaraderie and interaction, it's great.

Then there are days when that doesn't happen.

One way or another, it all seems to average out.

could not find anything wrong with it. Most of my posts are about answering questions or correcting what I find to be flaws or errors in someone else's post or attitude.

So a thoughtful post often gets no responses because we do not just like to say "ditto" except to an OP. That's what I keep telling myself.

I've posted threads that took quite a bit of research, formatting, and writing. Then editing. Really making it the best I could.

Sometimes I get one or two responses, other times it might sink like a rock.

Certain subjects resonate, others don't.

I do my best to get along here, and post a balance of hard-core political stuff and "Lounge" material as well. I've made some friends, I've pissed off some people, I'm probably in a few users' "Ignore" filters.

C'est la vie. Do what you do, enjoy it, and try not to put too much thought into who's taking notice.

I don't post nearly as much there as I used to. I used to be a GD guy for my first couple years and couple thousand posts here.

Now I mostly hang out here in the Lounge.

It's just such a continuous stream over there, that some things, some very worthwhile things fall like a rock. It's not just whether you have a good post, sometimes it's just posting it at just that right moment.

I don't think that there's a kids table and an adults table here at DU. OTOH, for the most part (and I've seen exceptions), the Lounge tends to be more laid back and knows how to laugh. So, I straddle.

And I don't take it personally if one or many of my posts go unremarked. We have 75,000+ people here. That's a hell of a big cocktail party.
