Ever watch "Behind the Music"? What was your favorite episode?

Mine: Ozzy Osbourne or Motley Crue.

1. Metallica was probably my all time favorite...

But I have to add, that I don't think there have been many bad ones. In rock it seems the formula for success for the obligatory Behind the Music,

Rock star with huge ego, add alcohol, drugs, emotional issues and stir...chances are it will be a kick ass Behind the Music.

2. But Motley Crue was also entertaining and informative

as was the one on Ozzy. I also enjoyed the one on Blondie.

I am wondering when or if they will ever do one about Frank Zappa--or some other groups/artists that weren't necessarily considered 'mainstream.'

3. yep. meteoric rise to the top, band crashes due to drugs etc....

...alcohol...maybe a death; then transition to sobriety, reformthe band suitably humbled and off they go again.
there have been some good parodies, including the one on "The Simpsons."

4. Styx

When they perform Mr. Roboto (not the song, but the play that lasts for about 10 minutes before the song) at the Cotton Bowl in front of a bunch of drunken Ted Nugent fans. That was hilarious as was the general tension between Dennis DeYoung and his wife and the rest of the band. It reminded me of the part in Spinal Tap where David's girlfriend Jeanine makes them all dress up like signs of the Zodiac.

I'm not really a Styx fan but I thought that episode really captured the essence of the show and was hilarious.

18. "I'm going to die in Texas"

the guitarist's thoughts waiting to go on at that hard rock festival you mentioned. He said it was like 100 degrees and they were following a bunch of hard rock fans, and he'd have to go out and say lines like "but Kilroy, what about the children?"

The other one I thought was good was REO Speedwagon. The narrator had all kinds of fun with the band name. "The wheels were beginning to come off the Wagon"..."The Wagon was barrelling downhill out of control and headed for a crash."

I didn't know about the car accident or any of that prior to watching the Behind the Music episode. I kind of feel badly for Leif. To start out as everyone's 'it boy' and to watch the career take a slow and steady fall...

11. I have to say Christina Aguilara

They talk about how she went to prom and her "Genie in a Bottle" song came on and everyone left the dance floor, how she used to get teased and go home crying.

I do prefer E! True Hollywood Stories, much trashier }(

That must have sucked, to have everyone leave the floor when your song comes on at the prom.

I take it she wasn't loved much in hs., poor thing.
