10. Oh HELL no!
The two things neccessary for any Bond movie are 1) Bond getting laid and 2) the kickass cars with all the new spy gadgets.

Now granted, Cassidy would have had no problem with the first category. But as for the car.......

....no, that's just WRONG!

I just went back and downloaded his BMW Films that he did a couple years ago.

I still love watching those.

Especially the one with Clive...James Brown and Gary Oldman.

41. still, negotiations are proceeding smoothly...
owen has mentioned he's not even really interested but that they keep putting money on the table so that time will tell beyond our various opinions is my sense; i'm not really into the bond series myself

but you don't like him? then leave him on the shelf, someone will buy that tea cup chip & all :D

17. Ian Fleming modeled the character Bond partially after Grant
Also, Cary Grant turned down the offer to play 007.

21. Patrick McGoohan was the first actor asked by Flemming to do Bond...
and he turned it down, saying he had other plans (re The Prisoner). But I think that having looked at the role seriously McGoohan turned it down because of the polygamous nature of Bond. My reasoning for this is, in "The Chimes Of Big Ben" Prisoner episode, Number 6 dances closely with the character Nadia, and McGoohan had his wife donn a wig and stand in for the woman. Though McGoohan might have been the perfect Bond in Ian Flemming's eyes, I don't think "Bond As Serial Monogamist" would have flown...

Besides, HAD he taken the role and wet his willie for The Crown, we might not have had the most unique show in all of television history- The Prisoner.

Be seeing you.

26. To be honest
I think they should have kept Pierce Brosnan. I loved him in the role.

Since they fired him, I wanted them to cast Julian Mcmahon. I love that guy. So charming and handsome. Looks great in suits and driving great cars. More importantly he can act.

But alas he has been reported as saying they think he is too old as well. Just like they told Brosnan.

That's okay. I'll still take Julian and he still has Nip/Tuck. I am also sure other opportunities in film will come his way.
