Shit! HALF of the power in my condo went out!

How the hell does that happen?

At least my tv, computer, heat, and refrigerator still work. The downside is that the entire bedroom, kitchen lights, appliances (other than oven/refrigerator) and bathroom are all dead.

Seems like all of the power that went out is on one side of the circuit breakers too.

1. One leg of your power went down.

Don't use anything that requires 220v (clothes dryer, central a/c) until both legs are back up.

2. That's OK, the dryer is dead and we don't have AC.

Although I wish we did since it gets like 100 degrees inside

call an electrician, might just be a loose connection or could be something more complicated and dangerous.

4. That happened to me a couple of months ago.

All the power went out except for the kitchen. Called the power company and they said it was on my end and they were not responsible for fixing it. Fortunately, my neighbor has a friend who is an electrician. Right now, I am on a temporary hookup from the main power pole and I'm still waiting for him to get back to fix it permanently. He is going to have to dig underground, so that is going to be a big job. I'm not complaining about the wait because I am paying him next to nothing. Electricians are very expensive.

5. Looks like I might not have to pay the bill for this one.

My neighbor knocked on my door and said her power is out too... except the OPPOSITE of mine (which makes sense since her condo is a mirror image of mine).

Also, there's 3 big 'ol cherry pickers next to the main entrance to the complex... that might have something to do with it.
