Okay (seriously) why didn't you people tell me about "Gilmore Girls"?
My wife stumbled onto it while at home on bed rest and we are completely hooked. We tape the damned thing!!!

I love that show.

"Kirk" IS the glue that makes the whole town of Stars Hollow (Where you never have to look before crossing the street) stick together-whether you realize it or not.

ABC Family shows it at 5 PM (rerun the next day at 11AM) and we seem to be in the midst of the third season now.

I was wondering if it is still on the air and apparently the SIXTH season will begin Sept. 13. Unfortunately I now know some of the spoilers up to this point-from this link and a fan site I found.

Seriously people in this age of "reality TV" when there is some actually good TV on you need to be more assertive about it. I know I know it was on against "Friends" (excuse me for a second ... :puke: okay better now) but that, frankly, is no excuse.

1. Um, they've been telling you.
I swear not a month goes by when someone doesn't say how great that show is... if only for the witty banter.

I've still not managed to watch a single episode.

6. I'd highly recommend it
Sorta Northern Exposure with a quaintness factor that is out of this world.

THe mother is miscast IMHO and Luke needs to lose the backwards baseball cap but other than that it is spot on. Very funny and very good (in this day and age anyway). You can jump right in from where they are now too.

9. It's on my "to watch" list.
Maybe I'll get around to it, even, since Joan of Arcadia was cancelled.

2. I think it's the 5th season starting
...it's one of the WB's big "hits" so look for it Tuesday night at 8:00 on your WB channel. (Check local listings.)

The first three seasons are out on DVD... expensive-ish, but worth tracking down. Check your local public library.

Lauren Graham IS teh hotness:

4. If you like that show
check out six feet under.

It's just coming out on DVD now - rent the first season and then tell me you're not hooked.

7. That is just ending now isn't it
I missed the beginning of SFU but the teaser/recap special on HBO got my wife interested. I don't watch it now because I missed the beginning, I like seeing the whole thing.

5. It's broadcast on the WB network on Tuesdays at 8 and
on Saturdays, I think at 8 also in my area. Oddly though those with cable don't get it for some reason, at least where I live.

It's the only sitcom I watch. The character development, witty dialogue, and plots are intricate and totally captivating. It's sophistication is reminiscent of screwball comedies from the 30's IMHO.

I don't even watch anything in the evenings except for the Daily Show, and the Simpsons, and the Gillmore Girls.

Glad you found it.

10. it's not a sitcom, it's a dramedy...
and a brilliant one. i think one of the problems with it getting recognition (aside from being on WB which apparently isn't considered a 'real' network if the number of quality shows on it which get totally ignored for accolades is any indication) is that it's not a 'drama' (far too many comedic elements) and it isn't a 'sitcom' (one hour, no laugh track etc). there are a lot of shows that don't fit the comedy/drama dichotomy and as such tend to either be relegated to comedy, even though they aren't quite (sex and the city, entourage, desperate housewives :puke: ) or just plain out criminally ignored (gilmore girls).

11. You don't remember my weekly Lauren Graham threads?
I love that show. Been hooked for 3 years now. Watched back-to-back reruns on the WB last night. Still going strong.

12. One of the guys on that show looks almost exactly like me,
my girlfriend says.

I looked and was kind of struck, myself.

14. I love that show & rarely miss a chance to plug it here.
I always list it as one of my favorite TV shows. I love the obscure pop culture references and the writing.
