On AMC tonight: Live And Let Die
Roger Moore's first turn as Bond in one of the worst Bond films ever made, in fact, it doesn't even seem like a Bond film; and I hate that goddamn redneck sheriff who also pops up in The Man With The Golden Gun...

The only reason to see it is for a pretty good title tune by Wings, and for Jane Seymour and Madeline Smith as the Bond eye-candy...

1. I just can't watch AMC...too many commercials, films are cut,
reformatted, etc. It used to be a good classic film channel.

TCM is the best!

2. I love Solitaire and Roger Moore was the best Bond.
There. I said it.

3. Actually I just recently learned that he, Roger Moore, that is
was Ian Flemmings first choice for Bond, but he could not get out of the Saint contract, and Broccoli felt he looked too young, even though he is older than Sean Connery.
Odd.

4. Is the movie a bit racist?
It's been a long time since I've seen it, and perhaps my memory isn't fair, but I recall being a bit offended by a number of stereotypes.

Maybe it's a matter of context.

5. My favorite Roger Moore Bond is "The Spy Who Loved Me"
which also has a great title song.
