Today I woke to a bank account $500 in the red...
because the student loan people were going off of inaccurate data about my income, so they thought I made about three times what I actually make, so they automatically charged my account the amount that would be appropriate if I were making that much. I have stopped them from doing so *next* month, but there's nothing they can do to refund the money. And a bunch of charges have hit since then, adding overdraft fees. The car isn't running well, Everythingsxen isn't satisfied, I have sent more than 17 resumes out this week and only have one interview (and it's not for a job much better than what I've already got), I will be in debt till the day I die, my rat is dead, and I have no beer.

Will it ever get better? Somehow I don't think so.

Tucker

1. I'm sorry. The rat is dead???
If I could I'd give you a beer. If it is any consolation, I filed bankruptcy yesterday and I've been through the mill on my bank account too.

6. My rat died a few days ago
I got him after I moved back to Seattle from my mom's house after recovering from cancer. He was my first pet in my new, post-separation, post-children, post-illness life. I named him after my favorite writer's husband, who my favorite writer couldn't live without, and when I started feeling uncertain of things I'd hold onto him and think that he was the first being in the world who was completely *mine* and could not be taken from me.

My ex and I did the bankruptcy thing a few years ago (after a bazillion ER bills out-of-network). The debt I have now could not be bankrupted on, though. $45K in student loans...and so far the only job interview I've got is for a part-time, $9.53/hour canvassing position.

It seems like the harder I try to get out of the hole, the deeper into it I dig.

Tucker

I experienced that with the IRS. I sent a check for a monthly payment of $50 (I owed $500 back tax) and mistskenly added an extra zero on the top amount on the check. Really screwed me up and I had checks bouncing left and right.
