Homeowners with all electric utilites, how much do you pay?

I have been getting what I consider very high bills this summer. I am on all electric service with an electric well pump. I have all the normal household things- washer/dryer, refridge, computer, big screen lcd, electric hot water heater. I also have an airconditioner which has been seeing heavy use on these muggy 95 degree days.

My last bill was 100.00, is that out of line? How much was your July bill if you are all electric? I am thinking there might be something wrong with my well pump- maybe drawing too much power? I would like to find out what others pay in order to know if the bill is average or I am way over and need to investigate.

1. just moved, and yet to see my bill

the rate per kilowatt is .061 for DP&L in dayton. my brother who lives in dayton pays $110 a month.. but thats because they have a baby (a lot of laundry), live in town, and crank on the central air full blast. they also have two big screen tvs, playstations they're always playing (including me) and two refriges.. thats why its so high.

my parents are on a co-op electric, and all they pay is .005 per kilowatt. So there electric bills has always been below $40 best of all, since its a non-profit, my dad gets a yearly check from the electric company, and that is usually $100.

2. $47 ...but

I don't have air conditioning, dry my clothes on the line, rarely cook and run the dishwasher every three days.

3. I can give you two ways of looking at it

I have my personal electric bill from my co-op, and in the summer it runs around $50. My boss, whose personal bills I pay, is a customer of Entergy, and his bills are "leveled" so that he pays around $100 each month. If you are a member of a co-op like me, your bills will probably be lower. And if you have any questions, just ask and they check it out right away. As for for-profit companies.....

...and I don't have A/C, don't have electric hot water, nor a well pump.

5. If you think $100.00 in July is high

Don't move to Louisiana! We have an all electric house - no well pump, (we're on city water), but we do have a mechanical septic system. Our thermostat is set on 79 degrees all the time. Our house is 1800 square feet. We put new insulation in the house last year and replaced all the windows. All of our appliances are energy efficient. Our electric bill last month was $201.95. :puke:

Last month mine was just under $300

But then I live in South Florida and have a pool with a pump that runs 8-10 hours a day and two refrigerators. We keep the a/c set at 80

7. We pay about $100 a month in the peak of summer

I keep it around 73 in a 2,000 sq. foot home, way more than necessary but I cant stand to be hot. During fall, winter and spring low $60s. We have a three-year old heat pump that's pretty efficient. In the winter it only kicks over to gas when it gets below freezing.
