1. Me too. Don't bother here, either.
It will only depress you and bore me. Or vice versa.

5. Thanks, Lifesaver Heidi! One hair o' the dog, please!
:hi:

Actually, I had a great time for most of the evening. Since I didn't feel like coming home and making my usual Microwave Mr. Scrooge Bowl O' Gruel, I went out bar-hopping. Ran into drinking buddies of various genders I hadn't seen in a while, and had a great time.

At first.

The whole thing took a sorta bad turn when I got invited over to a Certain Table in the bar, then rather rudely dis-invited. I think somebody was trying to make a recent ex-boyfriend jealous or something like that.

Oh well. I guess I served a purpose, for a few minutes anyway.

10. I love this, bridgit:
Quan Xi spoke up: "I am not a tourist. I am a follower of the Buddha Dharma."

"Ah," said Mo Shan, trying to look surprised. "You follow the Dharma! Tell me, how did you get here?"

"I walked in, from the main road."

11. i adore Master Hsu Yun...
i find him complete :D

"Overjoyed, Lu Dong Bin flew up to the tower, erased his old poem and substituted another:

I thought I'd mastered my small mind,
But t'was the other way around.
I sought for gold in mercury
But illusion's all I found.
My sword came crashing to the floor
When Huang Lung pointed at the moon;
I saw the light, his truth broke through
And saved me none too soon.

Unfortunately, Enlightenment didn't make him a better poet."

12. That cracked me up, too.
Have you ever seen the Martin Scorcese film, "Kundun"? It's a simplification of Tibetan Buddhism, but I find it so beautiful that I've seen it about 12 times.

13. yup, and i enjoyed it immensely...
for specific-cinematic reasons; i felt it scorcese's break from all the gangster pulp he pumps out as a matter of course, he is so visual in his treatment, were i to have a say, i would sanction more of the same

14. Yeah, I don't understand why he hasn't made more films
like Kundun. But I had a sense from watching Kundun that it was a real labor of love for him. I like when I can feel that. (And the cinematography was lush and gorgeous.)

15. martin is a genius, there is no other way around that...
sad to think that commercialism is the key to success in film but i suppose that it is no-less that in part true; so that we are not quite there yet is my sense; but the du server seems too glitchy for me this late eve, gf, so i'm going to peace out HeidiHoney, k? know that i love your brain = the sweetness & light your thoughts are harboring, lover :hi:
