Rant about attorney coworker

So, one of the asshole lawyers I work with was standing literally five inches from where I keep all my pens (and he's borrowed them before) and he asks me, "Do you have any pens?" So, he makes me fucking reach over and hand him a pen that he was closer to than me. He loves to throw his weight around, acting like he's better than thou just because of his juris doctorate. Making me do things just because he can. Things that are so menial I feel like his servant doing it. Oh and jackass, would you like me to wipe your ass after you shit too????

6. I once had a coworker who used to tape little labels with his name

onto all of his pens and he would never loan them to anyone. When he would go on vacation I would stick his pens up my nose and then put them back :evilgrin:

7. Another take on things

WOuld you really have wanted him to just reach in and take one of your pens? Probably not. Think of his question as really meaning, "Do you mind if I borrow one of your pens?"
I think a reply along the lines of "help yourself" would have been appropriate and save you from a slow burn.

11. I tend to agree with this.

It's difficult to work with artificially inflated egos, but I'm learning that the best way (for me) is to simply be polite. This doesn't require one to contribute to the egotism; it's merely a response that saves wear and tear on one's own sense of self. And in small matters, it's really quite easy to do.

I prefer to sweat only the big stuff anymore. :)

15. I'm the receptionist and everyone alwasy

helps themselves to my supplies when they are up front sending out mail etc. It's easier for me and the atttys to do this because I would be handing out crap and wouldn't be able to answer the phones and deal with clients. He's doing this to wave his dick in my face, trust me.

He is not a respectful person. He is like John Bolton, a loose cannon. He's already yelled at me for putting a fax that doesn't belong to him in his box. Like people don't make mistakes and he can't just put it in the right box. He is intimidating and I don't want anything to do with him. :scared:

I sympathize, for what it's worth. My personal response (this is not advice) is to simply be as polite as I can be to such people. For the record, I've managed to follow this principle with everyone in my office but one, the most foaming-at-the-mouth Freeper I've ever had the displeasure to meet. Him I simply ignore.

He puts my faith to the real test. . . . :shrug:
