I was seriously injured in an accident in 2003. I had credit card insurance on one of my cards. I can't begin to tell you how much of a nightmare it has been. They never pay on time, the account is always hit with a late fee, and, while it's routine for it to be reversed, I've discovered there have been occasions when it has not. They've gotten so bad about paying that the bank who issued me the card (HSBC) had their credit department calling me day and night for 2 fucking weeks. After getting my attorney and the manager/vice president of my local bank seriously involved the calls stopped. I was so close to having a stroke over this shit that it's not even remotely funny. NOW - I've discovered that HSBC (the bastards who SOLD ME THE POLICY!!!) was giving me bad credit reports and I've got a whole new mess to straighten out.
Today's lesson: never, ever get sucked into buying credit card insurance. It's a fucking joke.
