5. two theater classes, one in the Theater dept, the other in the PoliSci dep

"The Theater and Social Change"
-- last course I took in college, and the only one I took my last semester. Three people in the class, plus the prof, and all we did was do guerrilla theatre on campus.

"Political Theater"
-- offered by a visiting PoliSci prof my junior year, we read works by Arthur Miller, Bertold Brecht, Clifford Odets, August Wilson and a few old dead Greek guys. Only seven people in this class-- I wrote my final, 75-page paper for the class on the black power themes in August Wilson's "Fences" and Spike Lee's "Do The Right Thing".

I was a PoliSci major, and this course gave me the idea for my senior thesis, which was on the arts and their influence on politics.

Fourteen years later, and I work for the government in web-related stuff. Go figure. :silly:

the earlier one I took was more about the literature of political theatre, not so much the practice, while the second one was mostly "hands-on": writing, directing, acting, improving, etc.

i'm not an actor, but i play one on tv

17. We learned to recognize

25 different birds every week & were tested on our knowledge. The 'study' part included taking measurements, compiling statistics, proving a supposition & is now part of The American Museum of Natural History.

...A Music History Class... taught by a true genius...the late Mr. Salazar and two Geology Classes.

When I was in High School I enjoyed Home Economics classes.

16. Last semester...

I did a philosophy course on capitalism, neoliberalism and the market. That was really interesting. The semester before that I did a political science course on international issues.

This semester I'm registered for a folklore class on urban legends. Should be fun. And hoefully next semester I'll be doing a folklore course on paranormal phenomena.
