Suggestions for Labor Day weekend getaway in the Northeast?

any good places to go for a few nights for Labor Day weekend? We're in Connecticut and are two adults & one 2 1/2 year old girl. Hopefully, something within a reasonable driving distance (maybe a little farther than NYC or Boston)

5. How about the beaches of Delaware: Rehobeth, Dewey or Bethany

nice beaches, relatively in expensive and all the shopping is tax free (Rehobeth has great outlet malls)

I knew some people in the Atlantic City area, and that was a good 4 hour drive with normal traffic... I think US Labor Day weekend will be crazy & Delaware is at least an hour beyond AC.

15. They do if you want to add about 3-4 hours and an extra $60 to your trip

My friend from NJ finds it quicker just to take the turnpike down to the Delaware Memorial Bridge and drive from there. It's about 15 extra miles but it's alot cheaper and quicker

to Burlington Vermont? Labor day would be too early for foliage peeping but Lake Champlain will still offer a lot of fun. I am in the mountains but love to go to the Burlington Downtown Marketplace and just take in the sights. Just sayin...

12. It is an old fashioned...

downtown...completely restored and no vehicle traffic allowed. All the shops feature Vermont products and local art and music. It is a couple of blocks to the waterfront (also revitalized}, where you can take a ferry across the lake, or just a 2hr lunch or 3hr dinner cruise. Labor Day parades will have Bernie and Leahy walking around and talking to people in the Marketplace. Actually Bernie has a dinner cruise scheduled for 9/11 and is taking a lot of heat from the neocons for the timing of the cruise. Lots of B&B's around if you prefer "quaint" over typical hotels/motels. If you like the mountains you are cordially invited to stay with us (old farts and a 28 yr old daughter) and we would be happy to show you around! Just sayin...

it's probabLy too earLy for appLe season in centraL mass. and such..

if you ever have a chance to get to centraL mass. from august-october, i highLy reccomend 'davis' mega maze' in sterLing, ma.

basicaLLy, the worLd's Largest maze carved out of a cornfieLd.

i've been there twice. the first time it took aLmost 2 hours to find our way out; the next time we amazingLy shot through it in 30 minutes. :o

in the Last 5 years the maze has gone 3-d (Lots of bridges over the corn).
