ever buy foreign beverages with banned sweeteners
here in the US?

i found a russian store that had this soft drink with a sweetener they haven't legally been able to sell here since 1975.

dollar store toothpaste is a trip too: the ones of non-US origin have ILLEGAL amounts of fluoride.

1. What, do you travel around with a mass spectrometer?
Are you the flouride police? "Roger, base. We have a flouride violation at 4239 West Oak Street, 245 parts per million! Get a team over here quick!"

"Howdy, ma'am. I'm from the government, and I'm here to help." You could spot-check rednecks for mad cow, too.

8. I am a bit bothered by the dollar store find. They cater to low-income.
And if illegal/dangerous/unregulated shit is being sold there, that's a concern, right?

15. It tastes weird, doesn't it?
Ah the good old days. Smoking was cool, cyclamates were okay, and you could buy an ounce of pot for $10 and it really got you high!

17. A lid!
You had to get all the seeds out or they'd explode, pop out of the joint and burn your psychedelic polyester clothes.

18. was grass any good back then?
i heard that compared to the new strains lately, it was more like a bunch of shake, stems, and seeds?

was LSD THAT MUCH BETTER BACK THEN???

that is what every 1960s era hippie has told me.

19. LSD was great!
I only took it a few times, maybe 5-6 times over a ten year period...and the last time I took it was over 20 years ago. It was a batch cooked up by a student at the u of w who was a friend of a doctor friend of mine. It was down on the Rogue River and it was great.

The pot seemed good at the time, but we didn't have Seattle Super Bud to compare it to. The name pot was Acapulco Gold, Panama Red (the hairs in the buds gave the colour names). Then Maui Wowie showed up. I'm telling you though, Thai Stick wailed ass. To this day I cannot handle strains with a Thai component in it. Even though I've smoked pot for over 30 years, that shit can make me pass out like a n00b.

13. There was a murder mystery
could have been the Peter Falk one-where the perp was caught because of banned cyclamates (it was the murder of a Howard Hughes type) The victim, A recluse, had been frozen for 10 years and the plot was scuttled when blood tests revealed the presence of cyclamates in his system.

If only the murderer had known about Russian sodas.
