Cat owners: do your cats ever go bonkers?

Sometimes, when I'm feeling big-hearted, I sprinkle some on

2. That's what they do when they're happy.

If you have one it will bounce like a pinball all around the house. If you have more than one it's that effect to the power of the number of cats in question, as they all feed off each other's energy. That's what happens when you're a natural predator who sleeps 2/3 of the day.

I have three and I love watching them go berzerk. :D

5. Every night between 10:30 & 11:00

My cat goes completely out of his mind. He practically runs up the walls for about 15 minutes, over sofas, chairs, up onto window sills, up my leg screeching at me.

He's nuts.

11. He's 9 months old and has been neutered.

He has not mellowed out like the vet told me he would (except during the day when he sleeps for 8 hours.)

He used to fight me for the chair I use at my computer. I got another chair to use at my desk and he has taken that over, too.

He also follows me everywhere. I cannot take a piss without him howling at the door, trying to bang it down to get into the bathroom. He has taken over my life. I am his prisoner.

We live in Florida, so he is now obsessed by geckos who taunt him on the linai screen. Then he disturbs the entire neighborhood by jumping on the screen and screeching at those lizards. He goes completely out of his mind.

I can't eat--or even cook--a meal without my cat planting his kitty ass right between me and the food.
I can't even take a shower without Boots following me in. Then he gets a feel of the water and bolts!
He sticks his face in my dinner dish--while I'm eating. He has stolen his share of my food, but not for lack of trying to discipline him--it just never sank in!

12. One of ours has to knead my FACE...

every freaking night when I go to bed!!! He is miserable if he can't work his paws on my chin and sniff my ears. We keep his claws trimmed so they're not too short, but not sharp either. He loves me so much, so I just can't say no.

10. My first cat had a very weird habit

He was a stray who adopted us and he was the most beautiful cat...found out later he was a Norwegian Forest Cat...he's been gone for 15 years now but obviously I still think about him...

Anyways he occasionally would be sitting, minding his own manners...and then he would leap four or five feet straight into the air for no reason at all! It was amazing, he'd land on his feet and act as nonchalant as ever...

see them do it-- effortlessly-- often. But I've never heard of
a cat just suddenly doing it!!

28. what was funny about it was

he would go up and down and land in the same exact spot! Which was funny because he was such a big furball but obviously very muscular !

I'd post a pic of him but I don't have any scanned and I can't find the photos because I'm getting ready to move...

20. My old boy used to do something like that --

Even at 15 (and 19 pounds), Noah would suddenly leap into the air, like a Lippizaner stallion, throwing his legs straight out forward and back -- and then land in exactly the same place and nonchalantly stroll away. Our other cats would just stop and stare in amazement.
I miss that guy.

Our Maine Coon Mix I and II slept right through them.

Our Siamese Mix just seemed fidgety.

Our wild cat went berserk --- but she did that all the time and it didn't mean anything. From the kitchen sink to the top of the fridge to the top of the pantry, etc.

Our Maine Coon Mix II does "morning calisthenics" - runs around like crazy for about 15 minutes when the alarm clock goes off -- and then 23 hours and 45 minutes of relaxation, eating, sleeping, crapping, watching the birds in the bird bath, etc.

25. Why yes, of course, and now it's a full moon.

One of my cats is sitting around like a rabid animal. You know the mouth hanging open and drooling look. One of my other cats is sleeping. She seems to always sleep lately. Then the other one, Yogi, is walking around talking to me like he's trying to tell me something. They've all had their shots and they've all been "fixed". I don't know why one would act rabid, the other I don't know, and one acts like he's wanting me to let him go outside and bay at the moon. I told him to come cozy up with me while I am on the computer. He's under my feet, but he's doing his yoga/zen meditation thing and pouting at the same time. Soon, he'll be running through the house howling again. It REALLY sounds like he's howling when he gets that wild hair and he gets it often...

My stepdad is always teasing me although I am not completely sure he's not serious. He says that animals take on the personality of their owners. So I'm rabid, sleepy, and I want to howl at the moon tonight. Okay, maybe he's serious...
