Anyone into Daniel Lanois' music?
Edited on Sat Aug-20-05 10:42 AM by UCLA02
Though he has produced some incredibly successful albums over the past 20 yrs, his music is amazing.

Anyone agree? Anyone in SoCal going to see him at the Avalon in Hollywood on 10/22? I've seen him twice before and tickets at less than $25 are the best bang-for-your-buck you'll spend on a concvert these days. (See $200-300 for Stones tix)

3. For the Beauty of Wynona is one of my favorite albums
Though its the only one I own, I've been a fan of the other stuff I've heard as well ... he's got two nights here in Illinois later this fall, and I'm hoping I can make it ...

9. Thanks NSMA! Nice to see ya again.
Great to be back. If law school hasn't drained my will to live, it has certainly restricted my DU time! ;-)

8. Love the guy
He was my neighbor for years. He bought the Germaine Wells mansion on Esplanade in New Orleans after she died. Used to run into him all the time. Great guy. 'Acadie' is one of my favorite albums, ever, and, ironically, I just burned a copy for a friend.

As for Stones tickets - I purchased 4 at $450 each for the Toronto show. Since I don't go to concerts as much as I used to, it all averages out. I had floor seats for the 2002 tour and the show was worth every cent as far as I'm concerned.

13. Acadie is one of my faves, too.
You ever heard of Mason Ruffner? I think the reason I got Acadie was because he did some of the guitar work on it.

11. Didn't he do a lot of work with Peter Gabriel, too?
I forget the CD I had of Lanois. I lost it, but it was really cool!
